Dragoncroft Welshman has always been an upright
standing pony. In my heart, I knew that he would make a nice driving animal.
He took to the biting rig very well and ground drove like a dream. He would
even back on the lunge line. I hesitated in hooking him because of the terrain
where we live. Therefore, we took him to a Saddle Horse Trainer to hook
him. He was there two days-hooked and driving. At the first and second show
he was very nervous, after his forth class he settled down. I have shown
many driving animals from roadster, fine harness and Welsh driving ponies.
Welshman is the first one that I have driven that I get a thrill when I
ask him to trot on.
We have always been very pleased with his get. Even with the three fillies
that arrived eleven months after he visited the mares pasture for only
two hours.
